An ‘offender’ is a person who has been found guilty by the courts of committing a crime, and the information in this section is designed to help offenders, their friends and families.

The system aims to deal appropriately with offenders, tailoring the sentence to the particular circumstances of the offence.

The buttons on the left provide information on the types of sentence an offender may receive, through the prison process, to being released.
