Female Prisoners

Introduction

The thought of coming into prison can be frightening for some. You might be worried about having to share a room, how you will get on with prison staff and other inmates and what will happen your family when you are not there.

As a woman or girl you may not know where you will be held and what the women’s unit is like.

This section of the website will try and answer any initial questions or worries you might have about coming into prison. If there is something that we haven’t covered you can contact Hydebank Wood Prison on 028 9025 3666 and ask to speak to the Governor of Ash House.
